Spring Sports Season Continues Despite Weather Setbacks

Local teams are pressing forward with their seasons, including soccer, baseball, softball, golf and track matchups.

Admittedly, the weather for the opening week of the spring sports season wasn’t ideal.

In many cases, games were canceled and meets postponed.

But let’s keep our fingers crossed for the upcoming week weather-wise. Here's a healthy selection of game possibilities that you can catch–if Mother Nature decides to cooperate.

Tuesday at 4 p.m., the track teams play host to Fordson High, while the softball squad squares off against Riverview Community at the same time on Tuesday.

The baseball team hopes to rebound from a tough 0-2 start to the season when they host Woodhaven on Thursday afternoon. The first pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.

The boys golf team tees up against Crestwood at 3:15 Wednesday at the Inkster Valley Golf Course.

Meanwhile, the baseball team battles Robichaud Thursday at 4 p.m. at home.

The Tractors baseball squad brings in Romulus High Wednesday at 4 p.m., and the boys golf teams hits the links the same day against Garden City at 3:30 pm.

On Friday, the softball team meets up with Inkster High at 4 p.m.

The Lady Falcons soccer team meets up with a very tough Marian High Tuesday at home beginning at 4 p.m.

The boys golf squad meets up with Notre Dame Prep Tuesday at 3:30, while the baseball team travels to De La Salle for a pivotal Catholic League contest Wednesday at 4 p.m.
