Spring Break and Spotty Weather Means Sparse Sports for Dearborn

Despite the city's spring break, Dearborn prep fans can still catch some local teams this week–if the weather cooperates.

Welcome to another installment of Patch’s Pick of the Week.

With the weather still the biggest wildcard in the deck, local squads braved crisp temperatures and strong winds to compete this week.

Knowing that, let’s take a brief look at some of the week that was in Dearborn prep sports.

’s baseball team went 1-2 the past week, falling to Belleville, 14-4, then following that up with a win over Riverview, 10-4. The Pioneers capped off the week with a 10-3 loss to Woodhaven High.

Kudos to the Thunderbirds ball club this past week, which out-slugged Romulus, 17-14, last Monday.

Although Dearborn Public Schools are on spring break this week, there are a few contests that diehard prep fans should check out–if Mother Nature cooperates.

's baseball team plays an away game against Lincoln Park High on Tuesday at 2 p.m., as well as Westland's John Glenn High at 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Dearborn High's girls and boys track teams will take part in a scrimmage on Thursday, also at John Glenn.

's girls soccer team welcomes Bishop Foley to town Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and the baseball team squares off against Clay High School at home Wednesday as well.
