Opening Weekend Proves Challenging for Dearborn Football Teams
Three losses and one skin-of-the-teeth win made up Dearborn high schools' tough first weekend of football.
There's not a lot of celebration going on this weekend amongst Dearborn's football-loving crowd.
, , and all played their first games of the season on Thursday and Friday. All but Dearborn High–who , 29-28, against Chippewa Valley on Thursday–lost their season openers. (See photos from Dearborn's game .)
Edsel Ford on Thursday, going down 40-6. Their sole touchdown was scored in the third quarter by junior running back Jihad Baydoun.

Divine Child played Croswell-Lexington in Croswell on Friday, losing 27-6.
And in possibly the most highly publicized opening game of the region, Fordson to Detroit Catholic Central on Friday night, 42-0. Their closest chance at a touchdown came in the third quarter, when an end zone pass ended in a dropped ball.
