Games Galore for Prep Sports Fans

Baseball, softball and track highlight the week ahead in Dearborn high school sports.

Three days of good weather in a row!

Perhaps now the joke Mother Nature has been playing on us has finally come to an end.

In fact, we here in the Pick of the Week Department actually got a little too much sun this past week watching games. Our tomato-red cheeks, necks and noses are a sure-fire sign that the games are back on track.

Of course, the massive amounts of rainouts have a positive effect on fans from this point: these teams have to make up the games over the next three weeks or so, meaning, an extraordinary amount of baseball, softball, soccer, track, lacrosse, rugby and golf for prep-sports fanatics.

We’ve been working hard to make sure you have an idea of which games to catch and which ones to pass on this week.

So, let’s get right into the good stuff.

  • vs. baseball, 4 p.m. Wednesday at Edsel. Two words for this beauty: Intense Rivalry. Make a point to see this one.
  • vs. Notre Dame Prep softball (doubleheader), 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Notre Dame Prep. Might be some travel time involved in this one, but it’ll be worth the trip if you’re a Lady Falcons softball fan. DC has been sharp lately, halting Cabrini’s winning streak last week with a doubleheader sweep of the previously unbeaten Monarchs. These two promise to be great games if you’re a Lady Falcons fan.
  • All Area Track Meet, 3:30 p.m. Friday at Divine Child. All the local varsity track squads are slated to get together Friday afternoon at DC and run, essentially, for the city championship. This is a great event for fans to watch and an even better opportunity to come out and cheer on your team.
