Fordson Student Chosen to Play in All-Star Football Game

The Michigan High School Football Coaches Association picked Ahmad Leila as one of 88 players in the June game.

student Ahmad Leila has been named as one of 88 high school football players to participate in the 32nd annual East-West All-Star Game.

Hosted by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association, the game brings together what are considered to be some of the best players in the state, as selected by a state-wide group of MHSFCA member coaches. Players were announced Jan. 14.

This year's game takes place at Kelly-Shorts Stadium on the campus of Central Michigan University on Saturday, June 30. The start time of the game will be announced by MHSFCA in the spring. Tickets are $5 in advance and will be available at www.mhsfca.com on May 15, or $10 at the gate.

A senior at Fordson, Leila typically plays as defense on the school's varsity football team. He was also crowed Homecoming King last fall, and was .

Mike Giannone (East) of Macomb's Dakota High School, and Jerry Rabideau (West) of Spring Lake High School, will serve as the head coaches for the game.

“The Michigan High School Football Coaches Association is very pleased to announce that Mike Giannone and Jerry Rabideau will serve as the head coaches for the 32nd East-West All Star Game,” said Gus Kapolka, 2011 MHSFCA East-West All Star Game chair. “Mike and Jerry are extremely respected high school football coaches and represent the sport and MHSFCA very well.”
