National Senior Health and Fitness Day

To celebrate National Physical Fitness and Sports Month and Older Americans Month, Oakwood Common invites the public to join its annual “National Senior Health and Fitness Day” event on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. This year’s theme is “Get Moving . . . Start Improving!”

The day’s events will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Oakwood Common lobby with a “Community Walk-A-Thon.”  Dearborn Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr. is scheduled to lead walkers along the scenic paths that surround the retirement community located at 16351 Rotunda in Dearborn.

The walk will be followed by a special proclamation issued by the Mayor and the announcement of Oakwood Common’s Biggest Loser Challenge.  Light refreshments and prize drawings will also be available.
