Dearborn High Ends Football Playoff Run With Loss to Cass Tech

The Detroit team beat Dearborn 42-23 Saturday at Cass Field.

The football season is officially over for Dearborn schools.

While Fordson and Edsel Ford's runs had already ended for 2012, the remaining team—Dearborn High School's Pioneers—was knocked out of the running for a state title Saturday afternoon in a district championship game against Detroit's Cass Tech.

It's the third district title in a row for the school. They won 42-23 on their home turf.

According to the Detroit Free Press, DHS was up at the half, 17-14. However, Cass Tech answered with 28 points in the second half for a commanding lead the Pioneers just couldn't catch up to.

DHS quarterback Ollie Ajami told the Free Press they came in knowing they faced a great team.

"We just knew we had to play our heart out and we had to be on our A-game," Ajami said. "We respect Cass Tech, and we know they are a powerhouse football team."
