Ann Arbor Pioneer Offense Drives Past Edsel Ford for 39-13 Win

The Thunderbirds drop to 1-1-0 heading into next Friday's match against Belleville.

DEARBORN — It was a tough loss for the Edsel Ford Thunderbirds during Friday's varsity football matchup against Ann Arbor Pioneer High School.

Ann Arbor capitalized on a strong offensive game early on, with more than 200 rushing yards. Tyson Montgomery led the team with 162 yards on 23 carries for a 39-13 victory.

Quarterback Brandon Bertoia was 7 for 10 for 81 yards, delivering a 4-yard touchdown pass to DeVaughn Brown in the second quarter, and an 11-yard touchdown pass to Elliot Deeds late in the fourth quarter.

Malik Fuller kicked-off the game with a 16-yard touchdown run and field goal for the Pioneers in the first quarter.

Edsel Ford will take on Belleville at 7 p.m. Sept. 13.
