Two Dearborn teachers received minor injuries during a fight that took place on May 8 at the school.

Six middle school students at O.L. Smith Middle School in Dearborn have been suspended from the district for 10 days pending a formal hearing, the district said on Monday.

"The altercation stemmed from a teen middle school problem that started outside of school," Mustonen said. "All of the individuals live in close proximity to each other, and the whole scenario played out culminating with a fight on school property."

Mustonen said district officials will continue to investigate the incident in order to determine if further disciplinary action will be required.
