Earlier this week, the Michigan State Police (MSP) joined other members of the Michigan Committee for Severe Weather Awareness at the poster contest awards ceremony held at the capitol in Lansing to honor the four contest winners and display their posters that include important safety messages.

Following the ceremony, the winners and their guests were invited back to the MSP Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division facility for an honorary lunch and a tour of the State Emergency Operations Center and MSP Mobile Command Vehicle.

Each winner received a savings bond and bag of preparedness items to start them off in their quest to be better prepared.
