Dearborn Schools Offering Fun New Classes For Adults, Kids and Seniors

Some of the new adult classes offered this winter include: Cake Decorating, Plumbing and Electrical Repairs, Mommy & Me Fitness classes and more.

Are you looking to start a new hobby, get in shape, or learn more about your new laptop or tablet? How about enhancing your cooking, gardening, or home improvement skills? 

Well don't just think about it...do it! 

Registration is now taking place for the winter semester of Dearborn Public Schools Adult & Community Education program.

This year, the program will offer many new classes for adults such as:

• Cake Decorating/Pierogies & Easter Basket Cupcakes
• "Mommy & Me Fitness and Fun Class" (designed for mothers and children ranging from ages 2 months and up)
• Simple Plumbing and Electrical Repairs
• New Microsoft Word and Excel classes using Windows 7 & Office 10

Some of the returning classes include: 

• Indoor Golf – Great way to get you game ready for spring.
• Zumba/Zone Toning
• Lean & Mean Kettleball 
• Modern Line Dancing

Great Offerings for Teens and Younger Children:

• Drivers Training taught by the experts in traffic safety at AAA (Takes place at Edsel Ford and Dearborn High)
• Power of Drawing by Young Rembrandts- This is a new class for kids in grades 1-5.
• Mad Science – longtime favorite of many. Classes are held after school at Lindbergh Elementary and for the first time in the evenings at Dearborn High.

Classes Meeting the Needs of Senior Citizens:

• Beginning Computers
• Smartphone & Tablet (These classes are held during the day at Whitmore-Bolles in a computer lab dedicated for seniors) 
• T'ai Chi Ch'uan & Chi Kung 

The above classes are just a sample of the hundreds of classes that are offered in the program. All classes are open to anyone interested in signing up.
