Students who are residents of the district have the opportunity to continue their education in the free K-5 Montessori program offered by the Dearborn Public Schools at the Howe School site.

The Early Childhood program consists of highly educated professionals who are committed to helping young children grow and learn. The Montessori preschool staff are Montessori trained and certified and continue to expand their own learning through continuing education.

The Montessori method is both a philosophy of child growth and a rationale for guiding such growth, according to the district. It is based on the child's developmental needs for freedom within limits and a carefully prepared environment that guarantees exposure to materials and experiences which develop intelligence as well as physical and psychological abilities. It is designed to take full advantage of self-motivation and unique abilities of children.
