Wayne County will begin construction on Wyoming Avenue from 500 feet south of the Conrail/Southern Street bridges to 900 feet north of the Conrail/Southern Street bridges in Dearborn on Monday.
The work will include pavement removal, excavation, storm sewer, water main, sidewalk upgrades, concrete pavement reconstruction, asphalt resurfacing and restoration.
Road construction will be scheduled in stages, according to information provided by the city of Dearborn.
Sections of the existing pavement will be removed and reconfigured to accommodate underground construction prior to the placement of the permanent pavements and grading.
Signage and restoration work will follow.
Although one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction, intermittent stoppages in traffic may be encountered during the water main sewer installation.
Additionally, one lane of traffic may result in increased traffic congestion. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, such as Miller Road and Eagle Pass. The project completion is anticipated to be to mid- to late-November, depending on the weather and unforeseen delays.
