Woman Steals Wallet, Leaves Man Without Clothes at Dearborn Hotel

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Dearborn Police are looking for a woman named “Hershawna” who allegedly stole a man’s clothes, which contained his money, credit cards and keys to his vehicle.

The 53-year-old Brown City resident told police that the woman stole his belongings when he was sleeping at the Victory Inn on Michigan Avenue on Aug. 12.

The man said he spent the day at Motor City Casino in Detroit. While playing at the Blackjack tables, he met the woman, and the two proceeded to play table games throughout the afternoon.

After several drinks, "Hershawna" convinced the man to leave the casino and rent a room at Victory Inn. The man told police officers that the couple drank more at the hotel before eating dinner together at Miller's Bar on Michigan Avenue.

The couple returned to the hotel, where the man said he fell asleep. When he woke up, his wallet with $900, his keys, cell phone and clothes were missing.

Police searched the hotel room and found a half-filled jacuzzi, two boxes of condoms and several empty liquor bottles. Officers reviewed the hotel's security tapes and confirmed that the couple checked-in at 2:01 p.m. on Aug. 12, however no other information on the woman was available. Officers advised the man to contact casino security about the theft, as his car was still parked in the casino garage.

"Hershawna" is described as a black female, approximately 38 to 42 years old. She is roughly 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue denim dress and tennis shoes.
