What Does the Future Hold For the Dearborn Historical Museum?

An informational session on Thursday, Sept. 20, will provide some answers.

The future of Dearborn's history is in flux.

And as the Dearborn Historical Museum works through major transitions to become self-sustaining—and even profitable, the League of Women Voters of Dearborn and Dearborn Heights wants to help concerned residents understand the process.

As such, they'll be hosting an informational session at the museum's McFadden-Ross House on Thursday, Sept. 20. Beginning at 7 p.m., acting museum curator and former chairperson of the Dearborn Historical Commission Jack Tate will give an update on the museum.

Tate will address such questions as the museum's new business model in light of the city's financial challenges; the current management of daily operations, collections and archives; and the future of the museum.

The museum is located at 915 S. Brady Street in west Dearborn.

The talk is free to attend, and registration is not required. Parking is available immediately behind the McFadden-Ross House, and in a parking lot just north of the museum.

Simple refreshments will be served. Call the League of Women Voters office at 313-278-6476 for more information.
