Trash Delayed, City Buildings Closed for Labor Day Holiday

Here's a look at what businesses and government offices will be closed in Dearborn on Sept. 2.

The city of Dearborn’s trash pickup schedule will be delayed by one day for the week of Sept. 2-6 due to the Labor Day holiday.

Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 2.

Trash will be picked up on a Tuesday through Saturday schedule. For example, homes with Monday trash pickups will be serviced on Tuesday; homes with Tuesday trash pickups will be serviced on Wednesday, etc.

Dearborn City Hall, the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, the 19th District Court and the Dearborn Ice Skating Center will be closed on Labor Day.

All three branches of the Dearborn Public Library, as well as local banks and the U.S. Post Office, will also be closed on Labor Day.

The libraries will begin new seasonal hours on Sept. 3. In addition to week day hours, Henry Ford Centennial Library will be open Saturdays and Sundays, and the branch libraries will be open Saturdays, through the end of May.
