Patch Bloggers to Post from the Republican, Democratic Conventions

Want to get a Dearborn resident's view on the political conventions? Find it on Patch.

You can turn on the television and get the media highlights from the Republican National Convention this week the Democratic National Convention next week.

Dearborn will be represented at both conventions, and attendees of both events will be blogging on Dearborn Patch with photos, stories and experiences.

The 2012 Republican National Convention takes place in Tampa Bay, FL, on Aug. 27-30; while the 2012 Democratic National Convention takes place in Charlotte, NC, on Sept. 4-6.

This week, high school senior Eric Smith will be attending the Republican convention in Tampa as part of the Junior Statesmen of America program. Additionally, the JSA will be sending him to their Presidential Election Symposium at the RNC during his time in Florida.

Meanwhile, Democratic delegate and Dearborn resident Fred Hoffman has been blogging for the past month on Patch leading up to his time at the Democratic National Convention.

While Smith is a first-time attendee to the RNC, this will be Hoffman's 11th time at the DNC, though not always as a delegate.
