As a lifetime resident of Dearborn, I have been involved with and committed to the community in many different capacities. I served on the Board of Directors of the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce and have been a Board member of Dearborn Goodfellows and past President in 2009. I have also been a member of the Inter Service Club Council and the Dearborn Rotary Club. In addition, I served as a Karmanos Cancer Institute Board Member for 15 years and their Golf Outing Chairman for 9 years raising more than $350,000. Throughout the years, I have also belonged and participated with other numerous service clubs and community organizations including serving as a City Beautiful Commissioner from 1990 to 2007, volunteering with Meals on Wheels, Dearborn Education Foundation, Dearborn Jaycees, Dearborn Special Olympics, Just for Dearborn, Dearborn Burn Drive, Exchange Club of Dearborn, Dearborn Kiwanis, Dearborn Animal Shelter, WADOS, and the Dearborn Community Arts Council. I was named the 2009 Dearborn Rotarian of the Year and received the University of Michigan - Dearborn’s Community Service Award from the Alumni Society. I am a graduate of Edsel Ford High School and I am a proud supporter of Dearborn schools and have participated on important committees and projects related to the local schools. In 2010, I received the Distinguished Service Award from the Dearborn and Michigan PTA for advocacy on public school funding reform. I am also a parishioner and usher at Sacred Heart Church.
