Friday Deadline to Request Absentee Ballot for Aug. 6 Primary Election

The Dearborn city clerk's office will be open on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to process absentee ballot applications.

The city of Dearborn is holding a primary election on Tuesday, Aug. 6 for voters to choose the candidates who will go on to the November general election for mayor, city council and city clerk.

Residents who are registered and qualify for an absentee ballot may apply for and be given their absentee ballot at the city clerk’s office in city hall from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Aug. 2.  

The clerk’s office will also be open on Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to process absentee ballot applications.

As a registered voter, you may obtain an absentee voter ballot if you are:

  • Age 60 years old or older.
  • Unable to vote without assistance at the polls.
  • Expecting to be out of town on election day.
  • In jail awaiting arraignment or trial.
  • Unable to attend the polls due to religious reasons.
  • Appointed to work as an election inspector in a precinct outside of your precinct of residence.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 6.
