Ficano Faces Mounting Pressure Following Another Aide's Resignation

WXYZ TV reports that at least one county commissioner will call for the Wayne County executive to resign after a top aide resigns and two others were accused of obstruction of justice.

The heat is on Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano.

WXYZ-TV reports that at least one county commissioner will ask Ficano to resign at Thursday’s county commission meeting.

The news comes after another aide to Ficano stepped down on Thursday morning and federal agents charged two others members of the county administration on Wednesday.

Georgette Kelly, the county’s director of personnel and human resources, announced she will resign effective March 5, according to the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News.

On Wednesday, the FBI filed charges of extortion, fraud and obstruction of justice against Tahir Kazimi, a Rochester Hills resident and former chief information officer for Wayne County.

In addition, another Wayne County appointee, Zayd Allebban of Dearborn, was charged with obstruction of justice.
