On-site drug and alcohol testing

Originally launched in Traverse City in 1998, Drug Education & Compliance Systems (DECS) is the successor organization to Specialists Limited (SLI) founded in Traverse in '89.

DECS was formed from SLI in 1998 and moved to Dearborn. Ken and Sherryl Painter-Leedy are the co-owners.  After a short stay at a small office on Howard Street, DECS moved to its' owners' home and became a home-based business.  DECS personnel staff an office at Detroit Wayne County Metropolitan Airport and handle the FAA testing requirements for Delta Airlines' regional carriers.

In addition, DECS administers the testing program for the majority of school districts in Oakland county.  Long time residents may recall Ken Leedy as the senior advisor for Dearborn Police Department's Explorer Post 1177 and the voice behind Dearborn's annual ice show from 1976 to 1987.  His wife, Sherryl, is a former civilian employee of the Dearborn Police Department.
