Dearborn Schools, HFCC Ballot Proposals Topic of Election Forum

The public will receive information on the upcoming November election during a presentation on Sept. 23.

The League of Women Voters of Dearborn and Dearborn Heights will host a public forum on Sept. 23 in the Dearborn City Council chambers, 13615 Michigan Ave.

The event will begin at 6:15 p.m. with an explanation of Dearborn’s three ballot proposals.

At 7 p.m., the fourteen candidates running for seven city council seats will participate in a candidate forum with questions and answers on a variety of topics.

“We believe that nonpartisan candidate forums offer a unique service to the community. The candidates have an opportunity to share ideas and to hear questions from the voters,” said Betsy Cushman, League president. “We are fortunate in Dearborn that we have public-spirited individuals who wish to serve the voters of Dearborn in this way.” 

The forum will be videotaped by CDTV, the city’s cable television station for those unable to attend. Times will be posted on the League website, www.lwvddh.org and will also be available any time by going to http://cdtv.pegcentral.com.
