The City of Dearborn is declaring as snow emergency beginning at 9 p.m. Tuesday in anticipation of the predicted heavy snowfall.

Sirens will sound at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. to announce the snow emergency, and again as a reminder at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12. The snow emergency is in effect until further notice.

All parked vehicles must be removed from city streets to allow safer and more effective snow plowing. Parked vehicles will be ticketed. Tickets are $40 if paid within three days, $80 if paid later.

Weather forecasts suggest the Detroit metro area could get between 8-10 inches of snow, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Sirens at 9pm and 10pm and 9am? No, they did 11pm in addition AND 6am. Pretty sick of all those sirens! And my neighbor's truck is still in the street!

Kathy it's all about them!!!! Why do they live in a city that wants to clean the streets for nurses and doctors and Vets and DTE and ATT and Ambulances, Police, and the serious ill that need to go to the Doctors and fire trucks and people that need to pay the rent or feed their kids or mail carriers...I could go on and on...But as long as these people don't need help...Their OK..But maybe someday some one in their family or them...might need a car moved!!!!...Why do they live here...Move to a city who doesn't have city services...There's plenty out there...You can keep your car on the street and never move it! Keep those sirens loud and strong..Just maybe those ALL ABOUT ME people will figure it out...just maybe!!! There's still hope!!
