Woman Makes Oakwood Bomb Threat, Tells Dearborn Police 'It's Just Words'

Dearborn police responded to the Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center last week on reports of a bomb threat.
According to police reports, security personnel at Oakwood contacted police on Monday, Nov. 26, after being forwarded the audio recording of a phone call between an employee and an Oakwood patient.
Police listened to the conversation, in which the woman who made the threat identified herself by name, social security number, birthdate, address and Oakwood account number. She and the employee began discussing a bill that the woman received, which led to heated remarks.

According to the police report, the woman was recorded saying, "I'm gonna kill you guys, literally," and "It's gonna be a lesson to you." The woman was then heard asking the employee if she worked at Oakwood; the employee replied yes, to which the woman replied, "Just where I'm gonna bomb."
Police spoke to the woman at her home in Dearborn Heights, where she admitted to making threats after becoming upset over the bill, which she thought her insurance was going to pay.

She told police officers that she didn't think it was a big deal, reportedly saying, "People make threats all the time. It's just words."
Police did not arrest the woman, but told her that was not to have any contact with Oakwood until further notification. Police said they planned to investigate further, and were attempting to locate the employee the woman had spoken with.
