2 Dearborn Men Arrested for Home Invasion

Video surveillance led Dearborn police to arrest and charge two men for a Friday night break-in on Dearborn's east side.

Two Dearborn residents have been arrested and charged for breaking into an east Dearborn home Friday night.

Mouhamad Ahmad Bazzi and Wesam Mohamed Katip, both 23, have been charged with second degree home invasion, one count of larceny, three counts of stealing a financial transaction device and one count of receiving and concealing stolen property.

The heaviest of those charges–home invasion–is a 15-year felony. If convicted on all counts, the men could face more than 20 years in prison.

Dearborn Police responded to a call about a home invasion at 1 a.m. Saturday at 7267 Pinehurst. According to police reports, the homeowner had been out all evening at a wedding and came home to find their residence had been broken into and several items, including credit cards, had been stolen.

Surveillance video of the area showed two men near the home with the items in hand. They left in a white Buick, and witnesses were able to provide information leading officers to the vehicle. Subsequently, two men were located and arrested.

Several items were recovered, including credit cards and identification belonging to the homeowner.

Bazzi and Katip were arraigned before Judge Richard Wygonik at the , and their bond was set at $10,000 each.

A preliminary examination has been set for 9 a.m. April 15 at the courthouse.

They are nothing but cowards and loosers. They deserve every minute of their life in jail. Rather than robbing people's houses they should be working to earn their living.

Its funny how karma works, the guy who lives at 7267 pinehurst is also a thief.. He did 2 years for mortgage fraud... So who's to say this is no vendetta... Or even a set up?!!
Jackie April 05, 2011 at 10:37 PM
Who's to say they actually did it? It has to be proven, since there is supposed video surveillance that shows these men "in the area". How big is this neighborhood and how many white Buick's are in Dearborn? I thought so!!

Holy smokes Jackie...read the article....."Surveillance video of the area showed two men near the home with the items in hand. They left in a white Buick, and witnesses were able to provide information leading officers to the vehicle. " If they have pictures of the guys with the stolen articles in their hands, and wirtnesses identified the vehicle they drove in...well--sounds like a pretty solid case so far. If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, chances are that it IS a duck!

OMG!! laplateau Maybe she DID read the article, but lets face the facts.....how many fat arabs are there in Dearborn? You can't count on one hand, can you? I didn't think so! How many fat arabs drive white Buicks in Dearborn? You can't count on one hand, once again! I'm not sticking up for nobody, just that this country is going to hell and our so called "justice system" is garbage. People are guilty before they are even charged because of idiots like you. Since you put it that way, either you are employed by the Dearborn police, court, or heck....maybe even set the two guys up. hmmmmm

Habib that wasn't nice from you to talk to laplateau this way ..we should respect everyone's opinion . Any way I was at that wedding and I know this boy cause I had been working in the same school Mouhamad went to in his elementary years.....what a shock.
Habib April 07, 2011 at 09:16 PM
What does going to a wedding have to do with this? Who cares if you went to school with whomever, what does that have to do with this article? I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just pointing out some interesting facts.

I understand what they did was wrong but I don't think they deserve to be in jail for 20 or more years its not like they murdered some one people do learn from their mistakes good luck to both of them
larry April 08, 2011 at 09:12 PM

I heard the bazzi guy just got out of prison not to long ago I guess he did not learn much I feel sorry for the family I hope he and the other guy understand that life is not all fun and games life is tuff as it is in this economy and we dont need anyone else making it tougher on us.

@Jackie The Surveillance video was very good since it was directed towards the house mentioned. I know cause I live on the block and no one here drives a white Buick. And these criminal knew that no one would be in the house since they were friends(relations) of the next door neighbor. So you really don't know what you are saying since you don't live here.

Haidous did nothing But put a dent in our economy with his scams and fraudulant appraisels which he pleaded guilty to and made hundreds of thousands odf dollars. Y shuld I feel bad for a punk like that?!?
dwbm April 10, 2011 at 03:00 PM
Maybe hime and the other 2 guys shuld go back to jail together and share a cell! And as far as that bs surveillance goes.. It shows noone entering the home or leaving the home what so ever... Its not even angled that way. It shows the side of there house that's it.. What a joke this story is!
zeze April 11, 2011 at 05:06 AM
I agree this is a total joke I can't believe this is in news papers people get robed all the time I don't read about it I guess the press has nothing more important to talk about seriously and that's true how can that be on video surveillance if its facing the other house........ please get ur facts straight before writing about it for all we know they didn't do it let's not jump to conclusions
laplateau April 12, 2011 at 06:29 PM
habib....please--YOU reead the article. It says..."Surveillance video of the area showed two men near the home with the items in hand. They left in a white Buick, and witnesses were able to provide information leading officers to the vehicle. Subsequently, two men were located and arrested. Several items were recovered, including credit cards and identification belonging to the homeowner." So---how do you think the same stolen articles weere recovered if it was not these two that did the robbery? You think that might be just too much of a coincidence? Come on...PLEEEEZE!
laplateau April 12, 2011 at 06:33 PM
Can anyone explain how these two criminals had the stolen goods in their possesion after they were arrested if they weren't the ones that did the riobbery?? Geeez...vidoe, witnesses about the white Buick, and stolen goods intheir hands. Sounds pretty convincing to me. But I guess a lot of you out here..well--facst just don't matter.
laplateau April 12, 2011 at 07:03 PM
Heck ZEZE...why is this a joke to be in the newspapers? Don't you think Dearborn citizens want to know what is happeneing in our neighborhoods? Yes, roberies occur all the time, but I want to know if it's happeneing close by! If not roberies, should rapes, assaults, murders, child molestations, embezzlements, not be reported either? Just what felonies do you feel are importatnt enough to know about? Maybe you would just rather read about Eminem, hear about the latest rap songs, what celebrity is cheating on their spouse, who is going to be on American Idol, etc. Well, read on ZEZE, but I want to hear about what is affecting my neighborhood, its safety factors, home values, and how secure my family is, or is not.
