Trial Date Set for Suspects in Dearborn Homicide, Robbery
On Monday, March 21, two teenagers were charged and arraigned in the murder of a Dearborn store owner, as well as the robbery of his store.
Two suspects were arraigned Monday morning on charges that they murdered a Dearborn business owner and robbed his store March 15.
According to representatives from the Wayne County Prosecutor's office, Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy has charged Tanaka Jayvon Wells, 19, and Ronnie Lamont Matthews, 18, both of Detroit, in connection with the that left 60-year-old Dearborn business owner Jay Shin dead.
Shin was the owner of , located on Schaefer Road on the city's east side, just around the corner from .

The charges for both are felony murder and three counts of armed robbery each. If convicted, they face life in prison.
Wells has also been charged with a felony firearm possession, a charge which holds a two-year sentence if convicted.

Both Wells and Matthews were , after witness testimonies and surveillance camera footage led to their identification and arrest.
Both men were arraigned Monday morning at the 19th District Court in Dearborn before Judge Mark W. Somers.
Judge Somers ordered that both defendants be held without bond until their preliminary examination, which has been set for Friday, April 1, at 9 a.m.
