Thieves Drive Off With Construction Truck at Red Roof Inn

A Jackson-based construction company says its Ford F-350 Super Duty quad cab truck was stolen in Dearborn just hours after crews returned from completing a job on Telegraph Road.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the Red Roof Inn in the 24000 block of Michigan Avenue on April 18 for a report of a vehicle larceny. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 54-year-old employee from Lowe Construction, Inc, who informed police that his vehicle was taken from the hotel parking lot overnight.

The man said he and another employee were staying at the hotel and parked the truck in the southwest corner of the hotel lot around 9 p.m. When he awoke at 5:30 a.m., he noticed the truck was missing along with roughly $6,000 worth of tools.

Hotel employees said they witnessed an unknown person drive off with the truck but did not have any reason to suspect foul play.

Officers inspected the immediate area around the hotel but did not obtain surveillance video of the theft.

Buffalo Wild Wings Customer Runs Out on Bill

Dearborn Police are investigating claims an unknown suspect "dined and dashed" at the Buffalo Wild Wings on Michigan Avenue on April 19.

According to police reports, the store manager informed police that around 12:50 a.m., the suspect told waitstaff he left his wallet in his car after eating $25 worth of food. Upon exiting the restaurant, the man jumped in a waiting 2005 silver Pontiac Grand Prix with two females and drove off before staff could write down the vehicle's license plate.

The case is closed pending further investigative leads.
