The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Dearborn police officers are investigating the theft of nine cases of sausage from Dearborn Sausage Co. allegedly taken from a delivery truck between June 9-10.

According to police reports, the truck driver, a 27-year-old Canton man, told police that sometime between 10 p.m. on June 9 and 7 a.m. on June 10, an unknown suspect or suspects broke into an MB Express truck parked near the 5000 block of Wyoming Street and stole more than $1,400 worth of meat.

A crime scene detective searched the truck and discovered that the locking mechanism on the truck’s door had been cut. No other damage was reported.

Safe stolen from Home Town Reality

Dearborn police officers were dispatched to Home Town Reality in the 15000 block of Warren Avenue on June 11 in response to a burglary complaint.

According to police reports, the business owner told police that an unknown suspect or suspects entered the business overnight through an unlocked rear alley door. Upon searching the business, officers discovered several damaged computers on the ground, papers tossed throughout the office, and the copy machine and water cooler overturned.

The building's northwest interior wall was also damaged due to the removal of a large safe anchored to the ground.

The owner informed police that the business was equipped with a surveillance system, however because the suspects removed a computer tower connected to the security cameras, he could not recover any footage of the crime.

The case is closed pending further investigative leads.
