Dearborn Police responded to a report of a bank robbery on the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 6, at the Bank of America location on Michigan Ave. at Hartwell St.
The suspect presented a note to a teller demanding money and threatening harm, police reported. He escaped with an undetermined amount of cash before police arrived.
Dearborn Police arrested the alleged robber, Lamar Tremane Dunn, of Detroit, on Monday.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office approved a complaint against Dunn for Bank Robbery, a felony with a penalty of up to life in prison. Dunn will be arraigned today at 1:30 p.m. before 19th District Judge William Hultgren.
Chief Haddad said he commended Sgt. Derrick Hadder for his attention to detail that resulted in the swift identification of the suspect. Sgt. Hadder conducted a records and booking photo search and found that Dunn’s previous booking photo bared a distinct resemblance to the suspect who committed this robbery.
Dunn was previously arrested and convicted for bank robbery in August 2009 and was paroled in September 2013, police reported.
