Dearborn police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man believed to have attempted to rob a local bank as well as two others in Detroit.
According to police, the man entered the Chase Bank at 7301 Wyoming around 2:30 p.m. Oct. 25 and demanded money from a teller. Witnesses say he left with no money in hand after becoming impatient when he did not receive the money quickly.
The man was last seen leaving the bank northbound on Wyoming on foot.
A check with the Detroit Police Department confirmed that the same suspect is wanted for the attempted robbery of two other banks in Detroit. Those incidents took place shortly before and after the Dearborn crime.
The man is described as a black male in his 20s with a slim build, standing about 5 feet, 2 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black shirt as well as grey or beige nylon jogging pants.
He is believed to be unarmed, and did not imply to have a weapon at any of the attempted robberies.
"Our investigation is ongoing and we are asking assistance from the community in identifying the suspect from bank surveillance photos,” Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a statement.
