Police Release Photos of Suspect in Benihana Shooting

After investigation, Dearborn police are looking for 28-year-old Darrius Demarr Greene of Detroit, who they believe to be responsible for the shooting earlier this week.

Dearborn police have released the identity of the person they believe is responsible for a shooting Tuesday night at the Benihana restaurant near Fairlaine Mall in Dearborn.

According to a release sent out by Dearborn police, the suspect has been identified as 28-year-old Darrius Demarr Greene of Detroit. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s office has issued the following charges against Greene:

Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder, Felonious Assault, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Discharging a Firearm in a Building, and Felony Firearm.

Anybody coming into contact with Greene, or who may know his whereabouts, is asked not to approach him but to contact the police immediately.  Greene should be considered armed and dangerous. 

“This type of violent criminal activity, that puts citizen’s lives in jeopardy, will not be tolerated," said Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad. "The Dearborn Police Department will expend all resources available to continue to investigate this case and locate and apprehend Greene.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dearborn Police tip line at 313-943-3012.”
