UPDATE: Dearborn Police Have Found Missing Elderly Man With Dementia

Daniel Edward Lewis, 81, has been missing since 7 p.m. Thursday.

Update, 5 p.m. May 11: Daniel Edward Lewis has been found, according to the Dearborn Police Department. He is safe, unharmed, and back with his family.

Dearborn police are requesting the public's assistance in locating an elderly man with dementia who went missing Thursday evening.

According to police, 81-year-old Daniel Edward Lewis was last seen around 7 p.m. Thursday at his daughter's house near Telegraph Road and Carlysle Street in Dearborn.

Lewis is described as an African-American man with short black and gray hair and a moustache. He is 5-foot-4 and weighs 120 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jacket.

Family members told police that Lewis suffers from dementia, but is not violent.

Lewis has also resided in the areas of Ecorse and Wyandotte, and residents of those areas are also advised to keep a look out for a man fitting his description.
