Stolen Car Recovered in Detroit

A resident of the 1700 block of Wyoming reported his car as stolen March 27. According to the owner, he parked the car on the street in front of his home at 3 a.m. that morning. When he returned to it at 7 a.m., the car was gone.

A search by Dearborn police revealed that the Detroit police had recovered the car at 4 a.m. in the area of Porter and 18th streets. No arrests were made, and only the ignition was damaged.

Man Thinks Neighbor May Have Vandalized Car

A resident of the 22300 block of Lawrence reported on March 27 that an unknown subject had scratched his minivan.

According to the owner, the damage was done while his car was parked in the driveway of his home between noon on March 26 and 10 a.m. March 27. The 3-foot-long scratch ran all the way across the back hatch of his vehicle.

The owner acknowledged that it may have been done by a passerby on accident, but noted to police that he had experienced “numerous problems” with his neighbor–including having to call the police on them for troubling incidents. He added, however, no damage to his property had ever occurred before.

Police went to visit the neighbor, but her teenage daughter answered the door and said her mom was in the shower and was unable to speak with them at the time.
