Police Blotter: Resident's Car Pelted with Dog Feces

This week, a Dearborn resident reported that his car had dog poop thrown at it, while another woman had her city-issued garbage bins stolen.

A Fecal Matter

A resident of the 600 block of Claremont parked his Ford Fusion on the street in front of his house at 9 p.m. March 13. At 7:30 a.m. the following morning, he came outside to find that someone had apparently thrown what appeared to be dog feces on the driver’s side window.

The owner stated that he had no known problems with anyone, and that this is the first time something like this has happened to his property.

Garbage Cans Stolen

A resident of the 6300 block of Mead Street reported her city-issued garbage cans as stolen on March 11, although she did not know the date or time on which they had been stolen. The city told her that to have the garbage cans replaced, she needed to make a police report stating that others had been stolen.

Church Theft

A Dearborn resident had parked a small, metal, two-wheel trailer in the parking lot of the on Rotunda for the winter, securing it to a pole with heavy cable. Though the trailer had been there all winter, between 3 p.m. March 11 and noon on March 12, it went missing.

The owner of it believes it was stolen, but he had no suspect information, nor any information that would help police distinguish the trailer from others like it. The trailer was worth $250.

Two Car Thefts

Two vehicles were reported as stolen on March 14 in Dearborn.

A resident of the 6800 block of Neckel parked his Jeep Liberty on Blesser Street at 8 p.m. March 13. At 7 a.m. the following morning, it was gone. There was no broken glass at the scene, and the owner had the only set of keys to the vehicle.

A resident of the 6200 block of Bingham reported that her Pontiac Grand Am was stolen between 6 and 11:30 p.m. March 14. During those times, she was away from home with her brother, and had left the car parked on the street in front of a house two doors north of her home. When she returned that evening, it was gone, along with the TomTom navigation system she had left inside.

The owner reported that she had left her car unlocked, but that she had the only key and said she didn’t give anyone permission to take it. Police made a radio broadcast for the stolen vehicle and searched the area, but did not locate the vehicle.
