Police Blotter: Cookie Thief Makes Off with Hundreds of Little Debbie Treats

A thief with an apparent sweet tooth made off with massive amounts of oatmeal cookies on Oct. 6, according to the .

A Dearborn resident who works for BM Distributing said he was driving a truck carrying dozens of boxes of Little Debbie Oatmeal Cookies intended for delivery when he stopped for the night.

According to the police report, the man parked the truck at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 6 in the lot of the , which is owned by a friend of his. Intending to come back the next day to finish his deliveries, he went home to sleep. But when he came back at 1:30 p.m. the next day, the padlock to the truck was broken and the contents of the truck were gone.

Surveillance video of the parking lot showed a large yellow box truck pulling up around 11 p.m., blocking the view of the drivers in the video. The truck stayed for 45 minutes before leaving, the police report said. 

There were no suspects or descriptions of the cookie thieves.
