Police Blotter: Cadillac on Heather Drive Put on Blocks

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 2010 Cadillac SRX was put on blocks and stripped of its factory chrome rims on June 19, a Dearborn police report said.

The car fell victim between 12 p.m. and 9 p.m. while parked on the curb in the 5000 block of Heather Drive, according to the report. The car owner found his vehicle sitting on landscape bricks with all four rims missing.

An anonymous neighbor said she heard a "metal noise" coming from the scene around 2 p.m., the report said. She added that she then saw a pair of people—they appeared to be a white male and white female—get into an old, green Ford Explorer and drive away from the area.

The entrance to the property is watched by security cameras, but the responding officer had been unable to contact the property manager at the time of the report.

Another vehicle theft occurred that morning, when a Kawasaki Bayou ATV was stolen from its owner's backyard in the 7400 block of Steadman Street, according to a Dearborn police report.

The four-wheeler was taken between 1 and 9 a.m., the victim said. His motorcycle had been laid on its side to make room for the ATV, which must have been pushed out of the house's backyard and past its driveway, he said. The vehicle was stolen without keys.

The victim valued the red and black ATV at $3,000, but the vehicle is not registered with the Secretary of State, he said. He added that he is looking for the four-wheeler's bill of sale so as to obtain its vehicle identification number.
