No Injuries Reported in Dearborn Home Fire

The cause of a fire that damaged a home on Amazon Street in Dearborn is under investigation.

The Dearborn Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that caused significant damage to a home on Amazon Street north of Dix on Aug. 22.

Firefighters from four stations responded to the scene around 11:30 p.m. and were on site for several hours.

According to the Dearborn Press & Guide, the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The resident is in Yemen and her daughter was watching the house. No injuries were reported.

A vacant building on Schaefer Street near Alber Street that formerly served as a Burger King restaurant caught fire at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. The fire was contained to the left front corner of the building, and there was damage to the roof.

The newspaper reports that the cause of the fire may be electrical. The investigation is ongoing.
