Man Steals Charity Box from Dearborn Bakery

A charity box containing more than $50 was stolen from King's Bakery in Dearborn during the weekend.

According to police reports, officers with the Dearborn Police Department were dispatched to 4618 N. Greenfield Road at approximately 9:30 p.m. on April 27 in response to a larceny complaint.

Upon arrival, officers met with a store employee, who informed them that an unknown male suspect came into the store and took the charity box while the employee was cleaning a back room. When the employee attempted to confront the suspect, he ran out the bakery's front door into a waiting Jeep Cherokee. There was no surveillance video of the incident. The case is closed pending further investigative information.

Cell phone stolen in bar fight

Dearborn police officers were dispatched to the BP gas station at 4001 Schaefer Road on April 28 around 12:30 p.m. in response to an attempted robbery.

According to reports, officers made contact with a 34-year-old male victim, who told police that two male acquaintances stole his Android smartphone earlier in the day during a scuffle at Bronco Saloon.

The victim informed police that he and the unknown suspects were drinking in the bar all morning until he realized his cell phone was missing. After accusing the two men of taking the phone, an argument ensued. According to police, the argument moved outside, where the two men allegedly punched the victim several times before fleeing.

Officers spoke with the saloon's cook and bartender, who informed police that they did not witness the attack. Security surveillance tapes were made available to police to review the incident.
