UPDATED: Man Shot at Benihana in Dearborn

Police have released a description of the suspect, who is at large.

A 43-year-old Ann Arbor man who was shot at the Benihana restaurant near Fairlane Mall Tuesday night is expected to recover, according to Dearborn Police.

According to witnesses who were at the restaurant when the shooting occurred, the victim was dining when the suspect walked in and the two started arguing.

The man later pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the stomach, police reported.

The suspect has been identified as a black male in his mid 20's, approximately 6'2" with a medium build. Police say he is wearing light colored pants and a dark jacket.

Preliminary investigation has shown that the men knew each other prior to the incident, the report said. The victim's friends are not cooperating with police, which is making the investigation difficult.

The victim is out of surgery and is currently in stable condition at a local hospital, police said.

There were other diners in the restaurant when the shooting occurred, but no other injuries were reported.
