Man Found After Hours in Dearborn Mall Bathroom Said He Did Drugs, Passed Out

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Dearborn police responded to Macy's at Fairlane Town Center late Saturday night on reports that a man was wandering around the store way past closing time.

A security guard at the store saw the man walking around with a suitcase at 12:30 a.m. and stopped him, immediately calling police.

Police responded and spoke with the man, who told them that he wasn't trying to steal anything. Instead, the man said, he had been in the mall during normal business hours and had "shot up" with heroin in the bathroom, subsequently passing out from the drugs for several hours.

When he awoke, the mall was closed.
