Key Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested
Dearborn Police arrested a Detroit resident Tuesday morning for the Monday robbery of Key Bank, capping off a month of arrests made for felonious crimes.
Dearborn police have arrested a man who they believe of Monday evening.
Police credited the public with helping to provide information that led to the 25-year-old Detroit resident's identification and eventual arrest.
According to police reports, a teller at the bank was held up at gunpoint around 4:20 p.m. Monday. The man escaped with an unknown amount of money, and witnesses told police that the man escaped in a silver Dodge Neon with an out-of-state license plate.

Throughout Monday night, police were able to determine that the car's plate was from Alabama, which led them to the location of the owner at a house in Detroit. Plainclothes officers watched the residence and vehicle throughout the night, eventually arresting the man at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
A warrant request will be forwarded to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office Wednesday morning, police said. Pending charges, arraignment is expected to take place late Wednesday afternoon at the .

Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad gave thanks to media and public assistance over the past few months, which has led to arrests in several felony cases.
"The tips provided were instrumental in the location and subsequent arrest of the suspect in this case," Haddad said of the Key Bank robbery in a statement. "The community’s involvement in working with the police has been crucial in assisting the Dearborn Police Department to locate and arrest several violent offenders in the past month.”
Those include two armed robberies earlier this month–, for which one man was arrested and charged; the , for which two men were arrested for robbery of the store, and for murdering its owner, Dearborn businessman Jay Shin.
Dearborn police also arrested 35-year-old Taylor resident Adam Howard Whitlock for the robbery of the same Key Bank branch
in the 19th District Court Feb. 10 after surveillance footage and information provided by the public led to police identification of him.
