Homicide Suspect Pleads Guilty to Murder of ACCESS Employee

Suspect Kelly Michael Brady admits to killing Gracielita Flores in 1991.

The man accused of killing ACCESS employee Gracielita Flores 22 years ago pled guilty to second degree murder on Monday in Wayne County's Third Circuit Court, the city reported.

Kelly Michael Brady, 45, of Fort Pierce, Fl., was charged in 2012 for the murder of Flores, who was killed inside the city’s southend ACCESS Center on July 12, 1991. 

Flores was working as a custodian inside the center when Brady entered the business in an apparent burglary attempt. Brady killed Flores while he was inside, the report said.

Brady, who was living in Dearborn at the time of the incident, subsequently fled the state and the case went unsolved until 2012 when he confessed to the murder.

Under a plea agreement with the Wayne County prosecutor’s office, Brady pled guilty to second degree murder in front of Judge Gregory Bill. The agreement called for a prison sentence of 30 to 60 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections.  Sentencing is scheduled for December 4th, at 9:00 a.m. in Judge Bill’s courtroom, according to the news release.

“This was a most unspeakable crime," said Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad, in a statement. "I am confident that justice will be served."
