Fire Damage Reported at Another Dearborn Park
The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Following a string of crimes––reported last week in several Dearborn parks, one more has been added to the list.
According to a Dearborn police report, a city-employed grounds safety inspector found burn damage at in east Dearborn the afternoon of Sept. 2.
The inspector said that the park was last inspected Aug. 27, at which point the damage was not seen.

According to the report, the plastic tic-tac-toe wheels on the playscape structure at the park had been burned using an unknown method. Police determined that it was unlikely that an accelerant was used, as none could be smelled and no evidence was left behind.
On Sept. 1, another fire–determined to be arson–was discovered at . In that case, police said it appeared as though someone had poured gasoline on the steps leading into the pool house basement at the park, then set it on fire.

Police have not indicated whether the events are related.
