A seasonal Target employee was arrested for embezzlement this month, according to Dearborn police reports.
Police were called to the Dearborn Target store on Dec. 18 after a Loss Prevention officer at the store said he saw an employee stealing from the store. The officer told police that on Dec. 16, he saw the employee in question steal a $100 bill from his register.
An audit of that register later revealed that $100 was unaccounted for.
Later that day, the same employee was observed hiding a Red Wings hat in his shirt and exiting the store.
On Dec. 18, the same employee was observed taking a box of Cheez-Its and a bottle of Mountain Dew, then consuming both without paying for them.
At that point, the officer took the employee into his office and called police, who arrested the employee and charged him with embezzlement of $124 in cash and merchandise.
