Dearborn's Miss USA, Rima Fakih, to Face Trial
Highland Park judge sets bench-trial date of March 14 for Rima Fakih, who faces misdemeanor drunken driving charges.
Former Miss USA Rima Fakih, who grew up in Dearborn, will stand trial on misdemeanor drunken driving charges in Highland Park, according to a report in the Detroit Free Press.
Fakih’s pre-trial hearing Wednesday at the 30th District Court drew plenty of media attention, including cameras from TMZ.
Judge Brigette Officer set a bench-trial date of March 14 for Fakih, who faces up to 93 days in jail if convicted of the charges.

Fakih was arrested on Dec. 3 in Highland Park. According to a police report, her blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit.
After Wednesday’s pre-trial hearing, Fakih would not speak to the media, though her attorney, W. Otis Culpepper, told reporters “she’s remorseful.”

But Fakih did communicate via her Twitter account, @OfficialRima: “Sometimes things appear to be going wrong, when in reality they are just being re-arranged for the right outcome!”
