Dearborn Police Seek Suspect in Armed Robbery

The Dearborn Police are investigating an attempted robbery and shooting that occurred on May 10 at about 3:42 a.m. in the 5900 block of Middlesex Street.

According to police, two victims returning home after work were entering their home through the front door when they were approached by an unknown male.

The male demanded money from the victims while pointing a handgun at them, police said. One of the victims, fearing for his life, attacked the suspect knocking him to the ground. The victim immediately retreated toward his home and the suspect fired one round at him striking a chair and the front picture window, police said.

The suspect fled the scene after entering a smaller red vehicle. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 20-25 years old, 5 feet by 6 feet, 180 pounds, wearing a brown winter coat and a white and green knit winter hat.

Surveillance video reveals that there may be a second vehicle, an early model 2000 White Monte Carlo, involved in the incident.

“Our investigation is ongoing and we believe assistance from the community will be crucial in making a quick arrest," police chief Ronald Haddad said.
