Two federal warrants have been issued for a man wanted for robbing banks in Dearborn and Jackson, announced Wednesday.
Police are requesting public assistance in finding the man, as well as a woman seen with him who police believe might be in danger.
Yourmin Mincey–also known by the name of Jay–is suspected of robbing a Bank of America branch in Dearborn on June 15. He's also wanted for robbing a Citizens Bank branch in Jackson on June 26.
Mincey is described as a 37-year-old black male who is 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds. Police say he has a dark birthmark or scar beneath his right eye.
He was last seen driving a newer model, white, full-size conversion van along with 22-year-old Lena Ann Fife, a white female with blonde hair who is described as 5-foot-4 and 120 pounds.
Police say that the two have been known to frequent Detroit, Jackson, Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. The pair have also spent time in Las Vegas.
It is not known what city Fife or Mincey actually reside in, and police would not comment on how the pair are connected.
Mincey has "a lengthy criminal history," police said, and is believed to have weapons and should be considered dangerous.
Dearborn Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Mincey or Fife is encouraged to contact the Dearborn Police Department. Tips can be anonymous and should be made by calling the Dearborn Police Department tip line at 313-943-3012.
