Dearborn Police Recover Stolen Delivery Truck

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Dearborn police officers recovered a stolen vehicle from NOW Delivery & Logistics parked at Truck City on June 17.

According to police, the truck was stolen from Grand Rapids on June 16 full of grocery items scheduled for delivery.

While attempting to impound the vehicle at Rusko’s Service Center, an employee at Truck City demanded that the police pay for the truck's use of the overnight rest stop.

"You can pay the $130 for overnight parking or drive through the gate arm and pay $150 for breaking my gate,” the employee told an officer, who told him the payment would have to come from the delivery company.

NOW refused to pay the $130 fee because the truck was stolen. According to police reports, Truck City will no longer allow vehicles from NOW Delivery & Logistics to use the rest stop, located at 5000 Wyoming St.
