UPDATED: Dearborn Police Catch Graffiti Vandal Defacing Car Wash

A 27-year-old woman is facing charges of public vandalism after spray painting a vacuum cleaner at the Speed Wash car wash at 7333 Wyoming Road in Dearborn on March 21.

According to police reports, officers with the Dearborn Police Department were flagged down by a motorist leaving the car wash around 7 p.m. The motorist told officers that he had observed the woman spray painting the brick base of the vacuum cleaner.

Upon questioning the woman, she admitted to spray painting the equipment stating, "I'm impulsive," police said.

After searching the grounds, officers discovered a white can of spray paint matching the vandalism on the vacuum cleaner and issued the woman a citation for the damage.

Property destruction

On March 23, officers were dispatched to the Sunoco gas station at 10005 Warren Ave. for a property destruction complaint. According to police reports, a 37-year-old make informed officers that the rear window of his 2001 Cadillac Deville was kicked out following a fight with one of his acquaintances.

The victim informed police that a second 30-year-old male attempted to confront him about a previous disagreement the week prior to the incident, and when he attempted to flee, the suspect kicked out the victim's window.

Officers were unable to locate the suspect and informed the vehicle owner to contact his insurance company. The case is closed.
