Dearborn Police Request Residents' Help in Locating Men Suspected of Attempted Break-Ins

Police say the two men unsuccessfully attempted to break into two businesses in east Dearborn on Tuesday night.

Dearborn police have asked residents to be on the lookout for two men suspected of attempting to break into two local stores this week.

Police said in a release that on Tuesday, Aug. 28, two men attempted to break into an store on Greenfield Road around 2:15 a.m. by smashing the glass of the store's front door with a hammer, but were unsuccessful. Then, police said, yhey attempted to break into the Al-Bushra Market on Chase Road by prying the front door.

Neither attempt was successful.

Surveillance video footage obtained from the area showed both men, as well as the vehicle they were driving.

Police described the first suspect as a black male between the ages of 30 and 40, believed to be around six feet tall and 200-220 pounds. He was wearing a blue baseball hat, a light blue T-shirt, dark colored shorts and light colored Nike high-tops with brightly colored laces.

The second suspect was described by police as a black male between the ages of 30 and 40, believed to be around 5-foot-10 and 180-200 pounds. He was wearing light colored clothing.

The suspected getaway vehicle was a white Chevrolet or GMC custom, full-size van with large double windows on the sides and two smaller windows on the back doors. Police say the van appeared to be a model from the 1990s, and had paint missing on the hood and rear side door.
